The answer would be no.  I know, I know.  I've been delinquent.  Bad Mommy.  Work has been crazy!  This is what I can promise to make up for it:  what are sure to be TO-DIE-FOR ADORABLE photos of Chase in a TUXEDO!!!  The tux he's wearing in my girlfriend Julie's wedding came in the mail yesterday.  We're going to try it on this weekend and will be sure to take pics.  But for now...  I am proud to bring you the first installment of Chase Moments.

What the...?
Chase looked down the other day and apparently noticed his belly button for the first time.  Ever.  He was clearly completely perplexed as to how it got there.  As he proceeded to examine it in greater detail he was literally falling down, because the further he bent over, the more the belly button disappeared under folds of what we'll call his "generously proportioned" belly.  He apparently made a mental note of where his belly button is, because when we ask him, his hand shoots to the general vicinity, although he still hasn't figured out quite how to get a good look at the elusive sucker...

Kiss & Tell... Join
Chase knows very well what a kiss is.  He will blow one to you, and on rare occasion will plant one on you (usually he's just moving too fast to care).  We finally figured out that the trick to coercing kisses from Chase is to kiss each other.  Adam was holding Chase the other day and leaned over the kiss me.  Chase promptly opened his mouth wide and went in for the kill (the mouth never closes, very interesting technique).  We've since tested our little trick and - it works (only til he catches on, I'm sure)!!!

Are they clean yet?
One's teeth can never be too clean, it would seem.  Chase loves to brush his teeth.  Every time we ask him, "Do you want to brush your teeth?" - no matter how many times in a day - the answer is a resounding, very long, open-mouthed "ahhhhhh."  He gets the biggest kick out of brushing his teeth with us, you can tell he is bursting-at-the-seams proud to be participating in such big-boy activities.  I am so glad that both of the men in my life have a healthy appreciation for good hygiene.

"Daddy read to me!"
There's nothing Chase loves more these days than for either of us - but especially "Da-dA!" (last "a" is said very emphatically and in a much higher tone than the first "a") - to read to him.  There's one poor book that has been the target of Chase's victimization.  There's no other way to put it - it is tore the heck up...  The Pop-up Mice of Mr. Brice.  It's a pop-up book that Chase has absolutely, unequivocally unmatched passion for.  Not quite sure where the magic lies in this book versus the other 20 he has, but no matter where we are in the house, Chase will come up proudly toting The Pop-up Mice of Mr. Brice with an ear-to-ear grin, eyes literally shining in expectation.  He'll thrust it in our direction and plop down, ready to read!

Better than Facebook
Chase and his crew are into social networking... already.  He and I were at the grocery store the other day when I heard a little girl's voice exclaim, "Chase!!!"  I look over and unbeknownst to my girlfriend Lisa Marie and I, we're standing in adjacent lines at the grocery store.  Sage, Chase's little friend from church, spotted us.  I have to say it was really precious... a munchkin-sized friendship.  Precious and a little scary.  I think it was a glimpse of our future - girl's voices echoing the name, "Chase, Chase!!!"  Like I hear from a stranger at least once a day - he's going to be a heartbreaker!  Look out ladies...  Which brings us to our next Chase Moment...

Good Morning, Good... What?!?!
A couple of weeks ago I was reading Good Morning, Good Night to Chase before bed.  He loves this book because there are fuzzy, furry animals.  When he's sleepy I've caught him actually putting the book up to his face like he would a stuffed animal.  This particular night we get to the last page of the book (side note - this in itself is a small miracle, we don't actually start and finish one full book in a sitting - we usually read one page, throw the book to the floor at alarming but kind-spirited velocity, then move on to the next), which is picture of a little girl ready to go to sleep (yes, girls again... I know...)  So, without a moment's hesitation he leans down and very deliberately plants one of his open-mouthed smooches on her!  It was unexpected and quite precious.

We went bowling for Matt Sterling's birthday.  We hadn't been bowling in ages and had a blast!
Just say no, Chase.
